Windows 8 refers to the next version of Microsoft Windows after Windows 7.
Scheduled for release around 2012, Microsoft has not formally confirmed the existence of Windows 8, nor its name or features. However, many leaked internal documents and comments from insiders confirm that Microsoft is creating Windows 8, even if the name might change by release.
