Does different fuel/gas station gives different fuel consumption?

I always have this question in my head. As of I know, the popular fuel/gas station in our place(Sabah/North Borneo) are only Esso, Petronas and Shell. So, we don't have chance to try other fuel/gas station such as BHPetrol or caltex or maybe NGV.

Because I'm so lazy of copy&paste thing and it against the law for any copyrights website, I'll redirect you to this web.

But from my own experience, it is different. I've tested this on my brother's car which is Honda City SX-8. For RM20 of Shell petrol, I can drive for almost 5 days before the fuel meter goes to E again. With Petronas, I can drive almost a week before the fuel meter pointing to E. Same driving style and same distance. I also have tested BHPetrol while driving from Tapah to Melaka. From what I observe, BHPetrol burns too quickly. In such a short distance (Tapah to KL), the fuel meter needle pointing back to its last position before I refill the car. So what does this show?

That is about petrol(RON95). About diesel, I'm using shell diesel. Before the introduction of the new diesel formula in Petronas fuel/gas station, the Petronas diesel is kind of good. The diesel burns equivalent for power to mileage. Then the new formula arrived ~ no more power and diesel eating. I tested this on my father's car which is the Nissan frontier 2.5D. With Petronas, go and back from Tambunan to KK (distance approx 190KM) consume about RM45 with lack of power and pickup. When I switch to Shell diesel, go and back from Tambunan to KK consume about RM30-35 + power + pickup.

With only this information, I can make conclusion that:-
~> Petrol? go to Petronas
~> Diesel? go to Shell

All fuel/gas station have their own formula/additive added to the fuel. So it is up to us to choose which fuel/gas/diesel that is suitable for our car. The car maybe have the same shape or specification but on the inside(engine), it is totally different. ~cheers (^^)

Playing basketball can increase your height?

There has been a debut about this topic. Can you grow taller by playing basketball? While googling for the answer, I found this page. It is not a professional page but based on his opinion or theory which I'm agreed to. Well in that page it says that some people call basketball as "the ultimate height accelerator". Playing basketball increases your height in addition to keeping your body fit.

When you jump to reach the ball or basket, a natural reaction takes place in your bones, the fibers of the bones start to loosen up and expand, increasing the length of the bones. Playing basket-ball when you hadn’t done any weight training exercises in the past results in exceptional height increase. And even if you had done some exercise in the past and play basket ball, your height will increase. If you are below the age of 18 you may increase you height by 6 to 15cms in just 6 months!

:: I just highlight the important statement. The rest you can read here :

http://sportales.com/basketball/how-can-basketball-increase-height/#ixzz11ps5VzlI

There are also some people that say basketball will do nothing to your height. They said that it is all in your genes. In my point of view, maybe it is also be true. People that born dwarf still be dwarf even though they play basketball. There also some opinion on this forum that I agree. This is just the important statement:-

:: "
I also think the overall health of a person is sort of a factor as well as some exercise ... especially stretching. I also think that when we were younger ... those who are smaller than me probably didn't drink enough milk. Even I think I should of. I also heard breast milk as a baby is essential to one's growth and development " ::

:: "about basketball ... it does make you run and jump, which exercises your legs and overall muscles but just like soccer or track and field ... does it neccessarily mean they're taller? Mentally ... there's the idea that you should be tall to play basketball, so alot of people who want to play will think about height. I think a certain height mentality, is one factor, and also distance perception ... that the farther something is, the more you want to stretch out (example: when you want to get the ball in the net so you
stretch your arms out, whether you're throwing from afar or a slam dunk). These activities naturally encourage your arms to stretch and your legs also get exercise all the time from it ... although the leg activity may make the legs stronger ... but longer? Maybe ... I dunno ... a main thing to look at is were most basketball players already tall, or did they get so tall from playing? " ::

The rest you can read here :

For me, I play basketball because I enjoyed it and also to stay fit and healthy. And if you ask me about this topic? Well, It does increase my height only by few cms (^^)

High Definition (HD) ?

High Definition TV has been introduced in US since 1990s (info are available on wikipedia). So what is High Definition? HD usually contains 720 or 1080 rows from top to bottom, thus the 720p/1080p designations. The general objective for HD capable screens and videos is to provide a much finer display than SD.

Spot the differences?

In order to get the full HD experience, you must have an HD capable TV set and an HD video signal. Having an SD display would simply mean that the HD video signal would only get compressed in order to fit into the display. The reverse would also have the same result; an SD signal would only get stretched to fit an HD display. Although there are TVs that are embedded with complex algorithms that can nicely upscale an SD signal on a HD screen, which results in a better picture than on a SD screen of the same size.

Summary:
1. HD contains a lot more pixels compared to SD
2. HD creates finer images compared to SD
3. SD gets blockier much faster with larger screens than HD
4. HD video must be played in an HD display to get the HD experience
5. SD is still the most prominent format especially in TV broadcasting

Microsoft Windows 8?

Microsoft Windows 8 ~ Lets Keep it That Way ~

Windows 8 refers to the next version of Microsoft Windows after Windows 7.

Scheduled for release around 2012, Microsoft has not formally confirmed the existence of Windows 8, nor its name or features. However, many leaked internal documents and comments from insiders confirm that Microsoft is creating Windows 8, even if the name might change by release.

Microsoft's 128-bit indiscretion discloses AMD Bulldozer, Intel Haswell?

Recently, Robert Morgan from Microsoft Research got its 15-min of fame after claiming that he is "working in high security department for research and development involving strategic planning for medium and long-term projects. Research & Development projects including 128bit architecture compatibility with the Windows 8 kernel and Windows 9 project plan."

This was not the only status update posted on LinkedIn. Prior to account deletion, he also posted following updates:
  • "Robert Morgan is using Hestia (custom software package) for experimenting with the processor for scientific analysis and 3D graphics. Error: Memory Latency? Always gotta be a challenge barrier, it’s gotta be a bug in Hestia. right?!"
  • "Robert Morgan is frustrated with process standards and regulations! Delays Delays!"
Yes, you've read that correctly. According to now defunct LinkedIn account, British branch of Microsoft Research team is working on getting IA-128 to achieve "full binary compatibility on the existing IA-64 instructions in the hardware simulation to work for Windows 8."
