Cleaning and Resetting Proton Gen2 Throttle Body (Campro)

Since I have a lot of free time, so I decided to clean Proton Gen2 throttle body today. It is easy but certain tools needed to do this.

First, you will need to remove the air pipe and all related connection that connected to the throttle body.
My engine bay ~ Haven't cleaned it yet

Second, remove the two 10mm bolt and two 8mm bolt. The throttle body is hold only by 4 bolt. Remove the bolt will remove the throttle body.

Throttle body location ~ modified intake hose

Disconnect the wiring harness

This is a 95K KM throttle body ~ Quite clean?

Intake manifold ~ How can I clean that?

Take the throttle body and clean it with a carburetor cleaner or just a plain gasoline(petrol) until you satisfied. It is recommended to not to push the butterfly as it is electronic control and pushing it may damage your servo. Just clean it and wipe it clean is enough. If you have an air compressor, you can blow it clean.

After you satisfied with the cleaning, you can put it back as before.

To reset the throttle body:

It is recommended to clean the throttle body before resetting it. How to reset?

Turn your key to ON but do not start. Leave it at this position for about 2 minutes.

Turn the key OFF. Then press the gas pedal until it reached the floor. Turn the key to ON (don not start) and wait for about 10 seconds until you hear the tick sound from the throttle body. It will be just a soft sound.

Turn OFF the key and release the pedal. Start your engine...Warm it up and drive it. Feel the difference?
